Western Plant Health’s Environmental Responsibility

In response to the historically disproportionate impact of environmental pollution and degradation on communities of color and low-income communities that are often located in rural communities, Western Plant Health (WPH) members have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to advance technologies that have developed a wide range of new products.

Not only are they designed to protect the health of plants, but they also are intended to create more sustainable lands through less soil erosion and protecting natural wildlife habitats. An additional benefit from these innovative products is that they help safeguard workers and communities from potential health impacts.

Through scientific research, our member companies provide pest management products and fertilizers to preserve our carbon-reducing farmland.

WPH is focused on promoting more sustainable and equitable agricultural products that support best practices to protect the environment. We believe in building healthy soils, increasing biodiversity, and promoting worker training to ensure the safe and responsible use of fertilizer and pesticide products.

Protecting farmers, farm workers, and nearby communities is integral to sustaining the lifeblood of our societies and is a top priority for WPH member companies. That is why 100,000 farmers and 300,000 farm workers are trained yearly on pesticide safety and integrated pest management.

WPH members promote sustainable and equitable food systems that prioritize the health of people and the planet. Our products are rigorously tested, scientifically scrutinized, and strictly regulated.
